KWF has been implementing the following projects and programmes:
Kenya Wetlands Policy Initiative project which aims at ensuring that the Draft National Wetlands Policy is enacted, adopted and implemented contributing to conservation, sustainable management and wise use of wetland and biodiversity in Kenya. The casing points for this project include: Tana Delta, Yala Swamp and Lake Ol Bolossat.
Supporting livelihoods, enhancing nature conservation: a case study for Lake Ol Bolo ssat Nyahururu. The project aims at enhancing the conservation of Lake Ol Bolossat wetlands ecosystem by diversifying and improving sustainable income generation activities and empowering community institutional capacities.
Protecting the rights of minority groups in Tana Delta and Lamu Districts, Coast Province Kenya. This project’s focuses on developing a multiple land use master plan that will improve the prosperity of the Tana Delta region through sustainable and widespread development that is protecting the rights and livelihoods of the marginalized and voiceless minority groups while contributing to the actualization of the Millenium Development Goals, particulary goal number 1. Eradicating Extreme poverty and Hunger, Goal 7. Ensure Environmental Sustainability and Goal 8 Develop Partnership for Development.
